Conditioning Your Canine Athlete
Your dog needs exercise year round to maintain good health and stamina. It’s not fair to him to do anything less. It could even cost his life.
Being a duck dog is not for faint of heart canines and it can take its toll on even the best retrievers. The health of your dog is of primary importance to make sure he is up for the challenge day-to-day and for the long haul.

As an athlete, your hunting dog puts greater demands on his body than a sedentary pet. Training to hunt and hunting itself is all about performance. A healthy dog performs. An unhealthy dog does not perform.
Pick a vet that has the experience and approach you require, but also one that you can relate to. You want a partner in your dog’s health care, not a dictator of it.
